Today again no chase but driving from Amarillo, Texas to Taos, New Mexico

What is in for today? Still no moisture return because the omega block is still in place. As you have noticed we are now in Amarillo, Texas. Because of the expected very high temperatures for today we decided to move up into the mountains of New Mexico. Our first target area in Sante Fe where we try to fint a suitable hiking trail. Stay tuned for updates.
We ended up near Las Vegas (in New Mexico...) and made a nice drive trough the lower parts of the Rocky Mountains. Now we stay overnight at the Super 8 Motel in Taos. After finishing some unimportant shopping at Walmart we observed a very nice sunset from the parkinglot.
