Dodge City (Kansas) > Clinton > Lawton (Oklahoma) nice lenticularis and mammatus!

Today no severe weather is forecasted by the SPC. Waking up and looking outside through the windows of our motel in Dodge City gives us a special feeling. Are we in the USA or in the Netherlands? It is a cloudy and rainy day, which is so usual to us... Last evening the cold front of a low passed us to the south so we are now at the northern side of it. And yes: there it is cloudy, rainy and cold!

Looking at the maps we have no choice and have to move south for quite a while. That is to the southern most part of Oklahoma. Our car has a thermometer which is recording the outside temperature. As we move to the south we note a steady increase of the outside temparature. Somewhere on our way south clouds get thicker and darker which means we are passing the coldfront to the south!

Roy and I decode to drive to Lawton and find a hotel there. The sky looks very wild and we make lots of photo's. We drive to a place outside of the city to find a good viewpoint. From here we observe very fine mammatus clouds!
